IBN Düsseldorf

NRW chapter and Düsseldorf in particular, is the official residence of IBN e.V.. Here we enjoy the support of Enterprise Ireland and Bord Bia, which both have their offices in Düsseldorf.

We cater to the diaspora through a range of social and business events throughout the year. Yearly recurring highlights are :

  • The Düsseldorf Dublin marathon cooperation project.
  • Family and friends summer BBQ along the shores of Unterbache see.
  • Glühwein get together at the local Christmas market.

We are presently working on many exciting projects, including with the town of Düsseldorf regional businesses and local Düsseldorf heimatvereins to honour one of Düsseldorfs most prominent former industrialists, the Irishman William T. Mulvany.

Dear Members and Friends,

We are pleased to confirm that Derek Scally, the acclaimed Irish Times correspondent and best-selling author, will be coming from Berlin to Düsseldorf to present to and discuss with us. Many of you will know Derek and be familiar with his insightful articles and thoughtful reflections on the socio-economic and political conditions of our times in Germany. Derek will present this as seen through an international and Irish prism.

The general points of interest will include the pending German national elections, the effects which left and right will have on them, and the general structural malaise affecting the populace’s moral and material psyche. Derek is looking forward to an evening infused by your input, opinions, and reflections. We have asked Derek to bring copies of his best-selling book, The Best Catholics in the World, for those interested in acquiring a signed copy.
